The newly formed national level academic competitions examination authority, National Testing Agency (NTA), would conduct its first exam UGC NET 2018 in December which was conducted by the CBSE till now. The Human Resource Development minister Prakash Javadekar said the UGC NET Examinations would be held online from this December. The UGC NET December 2018 Results would be declared in the last week of January 2019.
Earlier, The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted NEET on behalf of the Medical Council of India and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and NET on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

- Online Application Form Submission:- 1st September 2018
- Last Date for Applying Online:- 30th September 2018
- Dates of Examination:- 2nd December to 16th December 2018
- Declaration of Results:- Last week of January 2019
According to the schedule released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, The examination will be held in two shifts per day on Saturdays and Sundays.
The HRD Ministry has also released schedules for NEET 2019, JEE Main 2019, CMAT 2019 and GPAT 2019. All these examinations will be held by NTA from now on onwards.
The ministry said in a statement that the NTA will establish a network of test practice centres for students of rural areas so that everyone will have an opportunity to practice before the exam. This is expected to held the aspirants to familiarize themselves with the new online examination mode. Schools/ engineering colleges with computer centres would be identified and kept open on Saturday/ Sunday starting from 3rd week of August. Any student can use the facility free of cost.
